What You'll Do

As a Technology Specialist II, you'll be a senior on-site resource for our AEC clients across the Lafayette area. You'll take ownership of escalated and complex issues, resolve problems end-to-end without hand-holding, and serve as a go-to resource for Tier 1 teammates. You'll also be a trusted, familiar face to our clients.

• Provide Tier 2 technical support. You'll own escalated issues across endpoints, servers, networking, and line-of-business applications (Microsoft 365, Windows, Adobe, Autodesk, Bluebeam, Egnyte) through to resolution.
• Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID: users, licensing, groups, mailboxes, MFA/Conditional Access, and Intune device management.
• Troubleshoot network issues, including switching, Wi-Fi, VPN, DHCP/DNS, and firewall basics. Meraki experience is a plus.
• Use RMM, PSA, and documentation tools (Datto RMM, Autotask PSA, IT Glue) to diagnose, remediate, and document issues. Keep tickets accurate and within SLA.
• Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and recommend durable fixes rather than repeat workarounds.
• Mentor Tier 1 specialists. Review escalations, share knowledge, and build out documentation and knowledge base articles.
• Support project work, including workstation rollouts, office moves and buildouts, migrations, and new client onboarding.
• Coordinate with remote engineering and vendors on escalations beyond Tier 2. Hand off with clear, complete context.
• Be a trusted steward of the client relationship. Represent RIT with professionalism and reliability, and proactively flag risks or improvement opportunities to account leadership.

Schedule & Location

• RIT Lafayette office — 5 days/week
• Reliable transportation required for travel between client sites

What We're Looking For

• 2–5 years of hands-on IT support experience, including time at Tier 2 or equivalent. MSP and/or AEC experience strongly preferred.
• Industry certifications. CompTIA A+ is required (or equivalent experience). One or more of the following is preferred: Network+, Security+, Microsoft 365 Administrator (MS-102), Endpoint Administrator (MD-102), or Meraki CMNA.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, Entra ID, Intune, Windows 10/11, and cloud file platforms like Egnyte.
• Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, wireless).
• Exposure to Active Directory, Windows Server, and basic PowerShell scripting is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, manage a full ticket queue, and prioritize across multiple clients.
• Clear communicator who can explain technical issues to non-technical users and write clean ticket notes and documentation.
• Fast and accurate typist (60+ WPM), organized under pressure. xhyhwjd
