The Dental Assistant Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality education and hands-on training to aspiring dental assistants. This role emphasizes practical demonstrations in general dentistry, student advising, and maintaining a safe learning environment. The instructor is expected to manage classrooms effectively while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and maintaining accurate student records. The preferred student-to-instructor ratio is 15:1 to foster personalized attention. Occasional participation in continued clinical practice is also expected to keep instructional methods current and relevant.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on training and clinical demonstrations in general dentistry procedures
• Assess and evaluate student performance throughout the course
• Advise and mentor students to support their academic and professional growth
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all training sessions
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and documentation
• Manage classroom activities to create an engaging and productive learning environment
• Occasionally participate in clinical practice to stay current with dental assisting techniques

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in dental assisting
• CPR Certification
• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques relevant to general dentistry
• Knowledge of instructional design and student assessment methods
• Strong oral health knowledge
• Effective communication and classroom management skills
• Experience with patient care and safety protocols
• Ability to collaborate within a teaching team
