Security Officer - Hospital Patrol - Part Time (Hopewell, VA) Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour Job Schedule: Wed 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM; Sun 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM. What You’ll Do: Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a healthcare location. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security‑related concerns to site leadership. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards, maintenance issues, and/or unusual conditions. Monitor access points and assist with visitor and vendor screening processes, following site protocols for restricted areas, after‑hours activity, and/or delivery access. Support healthcare operations by providing directions, de‑escalating tense situations when appropriate, and communicating with staff and first responders during medical and/or facility‑related incidents. Minimum Requirements: Must have at least 1 year of security‑related experience. Must meet hospital vaccination requirements. Must be willing to work in a hospital environment that includes the morgue. Must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting, as needed. Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical‑related field.
