Licenses/Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (NRP preferred)

Experience: Minimum of 2 years PICU experience; cross-trained with ICU/Tele experience preferred

What You'll Do

• Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in the ICU, managing complex conditions such as MS, DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, and neuro cases.
• Administer and titrate medications including pressors, insulin, Heparin, and sedation agents.
• Perform advanced clinical procedures such as PIV insertion, CVL placement, and wound care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including RTs, hospitalists, and intensivists, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor patients using telemetry and Meditech Expanse EMR system.
• Educate families and support patient comfort throughout ICU stays.
• Maintain compliance with internal and external quality standards, including EKG competency and clinical assessments.

What You Need

Required:

• Valid RN licensure in Louisiana or RN compact state
• Minimum 2 years PICU experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
• Confidence in PIV, CVL, telemetry, and titration skills

Preferred:

• Experience in adult ICU or stepdown units and ability to float across units
• Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR platform
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
