Job Description

The Clinical Decision Unit Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in a 9-bed short stay unit. The nurse will be responsible for caring for patients under medical-surgical service lines with various diagnoses, ensuring timely admission, observation, and discharge processes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
• Monitor and manage a patient ratio of 1:5.
• Assist in short-term treatment and observation until discharge or transfer.
• Administer medications and conduct patient assessments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in holiday and weekend rotations as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1.5 years of Med-Surg experience.
• Epic charting experience required.
• South Carolina or Multi-State Compact RN License.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Charge experience is preferred due to potential charge nurse duties.
