Location: College Area, San Diego
Schedule: Hybrid - three days onsite and two days remote
Employment Type: Full-time, direct hire
Compensation : $32-$38 hourly

Transition Staffing Group is partnering with an established organization in the College Area of San Diego to hire a Staffing Specialist. This position will manage full-cycle recruiting for a variety of operational, administrative, and high-volume positions while serving as a trusted partner to hiring managers and candidates.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, relationship-focused, and comfortable managing multiple open positions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from intake meetings and sourcing through interviews, offers, and onboarding
• Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies
• Source and engage qualified candidates using job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, networking, and direct outreach
• Review applications and conduct candidate screening interviews
• Coordinate onsite and virtual interviews between candidates and hiring teams
• Provide consistent communication and follow-up throughout the hiring process
• Support offer preparation, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding activities
• Maintain accurate candidate and requisition information within the applicant tracking system
• Build pipelines for recurring and high-volume hiring needs
• Track recruiting activity and provide updates on candidate pipelines and hiring progress
• Help ensure recruiting practices remain consistent, compliant, and candidate-focused

Qualifications

• Previous experience in recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, or human resources
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple requisitions and competing priorities
• Strong candidate-sourcing, interviewing, and relationship-management skills
• Experience supporting high-volume, hourly, hospitality, retail, food service, event staffing, or operational hiring is highly desirable
• Ability to build effective partnerships with hiring managers at different levels
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
• Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, Microsoft Office, and online recruiting platforms
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred
