Day in the life in Louisville, KY

Your shift begins at a clean, well-organized weld cell. You power up the TIG unit, verify your settings, and pull the day’s prints. You’ll study blueprints and technical drawings, plan your sequence, and lay down precise beads across stainless, aluminum, and other metals. Throughout the day, you’ll collaborate with supervisors and teammates to keep production on schedule, pause to inspect your own work against specifications, and perform light maintenance to keep equipment in top shape. When a newer welder has a question, you’ll lend a hand—sharing tips that raise the entire team’s quality bar.

• Set up and operate TIG (GTAW) equipment to fabricate and repair metal components with precision.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine weld sequences and requirements.
• Inspect finished welds for quality and conformance to specs.
• Keep the work area orderly and follow all safety protocols.
• Work closely with teammates and supervisors to hit production goals and deadlines.
• Perform routine upkeep on welding equipment to maintain peak performance.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior welders as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification or technical training preferred.
• Proven TIG welding experience supported by a strong portfolio of completed work.
• Fluency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to top-tier workmanship.
• Comfort working both independently and within a fast-paced team environment.
• Resourceful problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
• Solid knowledge of welding safety standards and best practices.
