Job Details: Job Location: Share Medical Center - Alva, OK, Salary Range: Undisclosed, RN/LPN Department: Hospital Nursing Position: Full-Time Shift: Night Shift Reports To: Chief Nursing Officer Facility: Share Medical Center Position Summary Share Medical Center is seeking a dependable and compassionate Full-Time Nurse to join our Hospital Nursing team on the night shift. This position may be filled by either a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The selected candidate will provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages while working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The nurse will be responsible for assessing and monitoring patients, administering medications and treatments within their scope of practice, accurately documenting patient care, responding to changes in patient condition, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. Essential Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate, and quality patient care in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and professional standards. Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, vital signs, treatments, interventions, and changes in patient status. Administer medications, oxygen, treatments, wound care, and other prescribed therapies within the nurse’s scope of practice. Carry out provider orders accurately and promptly. Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate nurse, provider, or supervisor. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Assist with patient teaching, discharge planning, and coordination of patient care. Assist patients with personal hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and activities of daily living as needed. Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic patient care environment. Prepare equipment and assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures as assigned. Follow established infection control, safety, OSHA, HIPAA, and patient confidentiality requirements. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Complete SQSS tasks at the beginning and end of each shift, or as assigned. Attend required staff meetings, in-service education, and continuing education activities. Maintain required certifications and clinical competency. Participate in emergency/disaster response as required. Inspect patient care equipment for safety and report malfunctioning or unsafe equipment. Complete incident reports and other required documentation accurately and timely. Provide an appropriate report to the oncoming shift regarding patient condition, changes, precautions, and ongoing needs. Work effectively both independently and as part of the nursing team. Perform other duties as assigned. RN-Specific Responsibilities For candidates hired as a Registered Nurse, responsibilities may additionally include: Assuming responsibility for the nursing unit/floor while on duty. Supervising and directing nursing staff assignments as appropriate. Initiating and maintaining nursing care plans. Performing comprehensive patient assessments. Start‑IVs when ordered. Entering and managing verbal and telephone orders in the EMR according to hospital policy. Acknowledging provider orders and appropriately initiating medications and treatments. Providing clinical direction and oversight to LPNs and other assigned nursing personnel. Performing additional nursing responsibilities within the RN’s scope of practice. LPN-Specific Responsibilities For candidates hired as a Licensed Practical Nurse, responsibilities will be performed under the direction and supervision of an RN/Nursing Supervisor and within the LPN’s scope of practice, including: Performing assigned patient assessments and reassessments. Assisting with implementation of the patient’s treatment plan. Providing routine nursing services as directed by the RN/Nursing Supervisor. Administering medications and treatments within the LPN scope of practice. Monitoring and reporting patient status and changes to the appropriate RN or provider. Assisting with patient education and discharge planning. Qualifications Registered Nurse: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Active Oklahoma RN license or valid multistate RN license in good standing. Current BLS certification. ACLS and PALS certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. Previous hospital nursing experience preferred. Licensed Practical Nurse: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program. Active Oklahoma LPN license in good standing. Current BLS certification. ACLS and PALS certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. Previous hospital or geriatric nursing experience preferred. Skills & Abilities Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patient-care responsibilities. Ability to make appropriate decisions in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical software. Ability to manage stress appropriately and remain professional in challenging situations. Commitment to patient dignity, confidentiality, safety, and quality care. Physical Requirements This position requires frequent standing and walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting. The employee must be physically able to assist with patient care, transfers, ambulation, and emergency situations, including lifting and carrying patients when necessary. The position may require heavy lifting and carrying of approximately 50–100+ pounds and frequent pushing and pulling of equipment and patient beds.
