JOB DESCRIPTIONHousekeeper DEPARTMENT: HousekeepingPOSITION;The Housekeeper is responsible to keep the physical environment of the facility clean on a daily basis in accordance withestablished schedules and procedures.REPORTING:This position is responsible to the Housekeeping Supervisor.FLSA STATUS; Non-ExemptESSF.NTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Clean assignment of resident rooms and bathrooms daily as assigned in accordance with facility proceduresKeep resident rooms and contents clean and orderly in accordance with the wishes of the residentClean other areas of the facility daily as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor including one or more of the following:Tub/Shower roomsOfficesKitchenDay roomsActivity roomsHalls and lobbyUtility roomsNurses stationsLinen areasTreat all residents with dignity and respect when performing duties in resident care areasBe courteous, considerate and cooperative when communicating with all facility personnel, residents and publicPractice infection control policies and procedures of the department and facilitySecure cleaning chemicals in locked housekeeping cart or closet unless in immediate possession and usePromptly report any needed repairs to Housekeeping SupervisorPerform other housekeeping related tasks as assigned by Housekeeping SupervisorAssist Housekeeping Supervisor with weekly and monthly major housekeeping tasks when requested to do soReact appropriately to emergencies and disaster situationsAttend in-service education and staff meetings as requiredJOB FUNCTIONS:Demonstrate knowledge of, and respect for, the rights, dignity and individuality of each resident in all interactionsAppreciates the importance of maintaining confidentiality of resident and facility informationDemonstrate honesty and integrity at all times in the care and use ofresident and facility propertyMust be neat and clean and well groomed appearanceAbility to read, speak and understand English, follow directions and complete the assigned responsibilities of the departmentKnowledge of basic principles of cleaning and disinfectingDependabilityOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS/REOUIREMENTS:Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferredLicense:Work Experience:None RequiredHousekeeping experience in a long term care facility or as a housekeeper in an institutional setting preferred.Language Skills:Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information, and to be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language.Mathematical Skills:Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, and volume.Communication Skills:Must have exceptional communication and customer service skills, and be empathetic.Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, responsible parties, staff and outside resources and agencies. #J-18808-Ljbffr Edmonds Post Acute
