NSC Staffing is seeking detail?oriented Marine Cleaning Specialists (White Glove) to perform post?construction and post?availability deep cleaning aboard marine barges. This role is critical to ensuring vessels meet strict government "white glove" inspection standards . Candidates must have a strong eye for detail, follow safety procedures, and deliver inspection?ready spaces.

Must be able to clean barges to a level that passes government white glove inspections.

Position Overview
The Marine Cleaning Specialist (White Glove) is responsible for comprehensive deep cleaning, sanitization, and minor refurbishment of designated barge spaces following maintenance or construction activities. Work must be completed to OSHA?approved standards and verified prior to government or customer inspection. All areas must be left clean, dry, sanitized, properly documented, and protected from re?entry.



Key Responsibilities

Deep Cleaning & Sanitization

• Perform detailed cleaning and disinfecting of berthing spaces, offices, galleys, sanitary facilities, and common areas.
• Remove grease, grime, scale, dust, and debris from all surfaces, including vertical, horizontal, and hard?to?reach areas.
• Vacuum, mop, scrub, wax deck surfaces, and clean ladders, fixtures, windows, mirrors, furniture, and ventilation components.
• Shampoo upholstery and confirm all air diffusers are free of dust and debris.

Galley & Sanitary Area Cleaning

• Deep clean ship heads, galleys, and sculleries.
• Defrost, clean, and sanitize refrigeration units.
• Perform detailed cleaning of griddles, hood systems, and food?service equipment.
• Test, clear, and verify proper function of deck drains.

Minor Refurbishment & Replacement

• Replace curtains, blinds, awnings, shower curtains, AHU filters, ceiling panels, deck tiles, and damaged hardware as directed.
• Install and configure security locks and other specified components as required.

Safety, Waste & Compliance

• Safely work in proximity to electrical systems and shipboard hazards.
• Remove and dispose of waste in compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Follow OSHA safety rules, PPE requirements, and all shipyard procedures.

Inspection Support & Documentation

• Conduct final cleanliness walkthroughs with supervisors.
• Maintain tracking documentation and clearly mark completed areas to prevent re?entry.
• Ensure all spaces are left clean, sanitized, dry, and inspection?ready .

Qualifications

• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and working in confined areas.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Prior marine, shipyard, industrial, janitorial, or post?construction cleaning experience preferred.

Work Environment

• Marine and shipyard environments aboard barges.
• Exposure to confined spaces, wet surfaces, ladders, and industrial conditions.
• PPE required, including gloves, eye protection, respirators (as required), and safety footwear.
