Anesthesiology Physician

ATC West Healthcare is seeking a locum General Anesthesia MD to provide ongoing weekend and call coverage beginning ASAP and continuing through July and beyond. This hospital-based opportunity involves independent anesthesia cases across a wide range of surgical specialties in a facility performing approximately 3,600 inpatient and outpatient surgeries annually. The assignment is ideal for providers comfortable with weekend call coverage and working alongside CRNAs and anesthesia support staff.

Dates / Schedule

• Start Date: ASAP
• Ongoing Coverage: July and beyond
• Weekly Schedule:
  • Friday: 5:00 PM 7:00 AM
    • Facility may utilize provider for Friday day shift if available earlier
  • Saturday: 7:00 AM 7:00 AM
  • Sunday: 7:00 AM 7:00 AM
    
• Setting: Hospital-based anesthesia practice
• Credentialing Timeline: Within 60 days

Job Details / Responsibilities

• Provide independent anesthesia coverage for inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures
• Annual surgical volume: Approximately 3,600 cases per year
• Required case experience includes:
  • Orthopedics
  • Labor & Delivery
  • Spine procedures
  • GI procedures
  • Gynecology
  • Urology
  • Cath Lab
  • Interventional Radiology
  • Bariatric bypass
  • Minimal vascular procedures
• EMR System: Epic
• Work collaboratively with:
  • Anesthesia providers
  • CRNAs
  • Anesthesia technicians
• Reason for Coverage: Staffing shortage

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified in Anesthesiology required
• Residency training required
• Iowa license highly preferred
  • Will consider providers with IMLC or willingness to obtain Iowa licensure
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS
  • DEA
• Clean malpractice history highly preferred
• Self-Query NPDB report required within 30 days of presentation
• Availability confirmation required at time of name clear
