LOAN ASSISTANT

Position SummaryThe Loan Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the lending team by assisting with the preparation, processing, closing, and maintenance of loan files. This position helps ensure loan documentation is accurate, complete, and processed in a timely manner while providing exceptional service to customers and supporting compliance with applicable regulations and bank policies.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist loan officers with preparing, processing, closing, and maintaining consumer, commercial, agricultural, and real estate loan files.Review loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with bank policies.Prepare loan documentation and coordinate loan closings, funding, renewals, modifications, and extensions as assigned.Collect, organize, and verify required documentation, including income verification, employment information, financial statements, collateral documentation, insurance, and other supporting items.Communicate with borrowers, loan officers, attorneys, title companies, insurance agents, appraisers, and other third parties to obtain information needed to complete loan files.Monitor loan files throughout the approval and closing process to ensure required documentation is received and deadlines are met.Assist with servicing existing loans, including processing advances, payments, modifications, renewals, extensions, releases, and other maintenance requests.Scan, index, and maintain electronic and physical loan files in accordance with bank record retention requirements.Ensure loan files remain organized, complete, and audit-ready throughout the lending process.Maintain confidentiality of customer information and protect sensitive financial data.Follow all applicable federal and state lending regulations, internal policies, and compliance requirements.Provide prompt, courteous, and professional customer service by answering questions, resolving routine issues, and keeping customers informed throughout the loan process.Work closely with other departments to ensure efficient processing and exceptional customer service.Remain current on changes to lending procedures, regulations, and internal systems.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple loan files and deadlines simultaneously.Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.Working knowledge of general office equipment and Microsoft Office applications.Ability to learn and utilize the bank's loan processing and core operating systems.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Previous banking, lending, customer service, or administrative experience preferred.Knowledge of loan documentation and lending practices is preferred but not required.Physical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting and computer work.Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer and other office equipment.Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.Ability to move throughout the bank to assist customers and employees as needed. #J-18808-Ljbffr Priority Dispatch Corp.
