Travel Psychiatric RN (13-Week) — Guaranteed Hours

Position Travel Nurse RN – Psychiatric (TotalMed RN) in Salt Lake City, Utah. Job Overview Travel nurse opportunity for 13 weeks beginning June 8, 2026, 12‑hour day shifts, 36 hours per week. Responsibilities Conduct intake assessments and complete physical and mental health assessments. Observe and report patient behavioral changes; assist patients with understanding emotional disturbances and the need for treatment. Document patient information on medical charts and follow physicians’ orders while maintaining confidentiality. Plan nursing care and provide nursing diagnoses of patients’ medical and emotional status; recommend treatment options. Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design treatment plans. Administer medications and record reactions, arranging further medical attention as needed. Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff and patients, including pain assessment and treatment. Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, immunizations, and laboratory results per standard medical record‑keeping. Perform administrative duties such as filing, answering phones, typing, and completing electronic progress notes. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with 1–2 years of recent psychiatric nursing experience. Current BLS certification; additional certifications may be required. Physical ability to stand, walk, carry up to 20 lbs, bend, lean, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary. Excellent coping, stress‑management skills, and ability to relate to diverse clients while maintaining professional boundaries.
