On-Site Field Service Engineer II - Electron Microscopy - Boise, Idaho

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Field Service Engineer II to install, maintain, and repair electron microscopy equipment at customer sites in the Boise area. The role involves hands-on technical support, troubleshooting complex analytical systems, and collaborating with customers and internal teams to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Responsibilities
- Install complex electron microscopy equipment on-site and conduct testing procedures to verify proper operation
- Perform scheduled maintenance visits and provide troubleshooting and repair support for customer systems
- Travel to customer sites on short notice to resolve technical issues and support field service personnel
- Train customers and users on system maintenance and provide feedback to product quality teams
- Complete field service reports and maintain system documentation with identified problems and solutions
Requirements
- Associate degree in electronics, physics, engineering, computer science or equivalent 3-5 years relevant experience
- 3-5 years experience operating and troubleshooting complex analysis tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB systems preferred
- Proficiency with oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, and Windows software environments
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation
- Fluent English communication, valid driver's license, and valid passport
- Willingness to travel 0-25% and ability to lift 40 lbs without assistance
