Blood Collections Staff - Advanced Phlebotomy When you join our team, you will utilize prior phlebotomy and customer service skills to support mobile blood drive operations. As a blood collection staff member, you will perform complex Power Red collection duties while assisting team members with various roles to support the mobile collection process. Key Responsibilities Lead the team and drive results through excellent customer service Model professionalism and compassion while serving as an ambassador to the public for the nation's largest not-for-profit blood banking organization Conduct complex phlebotomy duties to include Power Red extraction Able to work independently with attention to detail and knowledge of daily operations to ensure the blood the team collects meets regulatory requirements Standard Schedule Variable schedule may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays; overnight travel may be required in some locations Schedule provided two to three weeks in advance Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 1-year prior phlebotomy experience required Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills required Current, valid driver's license with a good driving record required Physical requirements include ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, ability to sit or stand for long periods, adapt to irregular hours and frequent schedule changes; may require a minimum height of 60 inches Basic computer skills required; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with complex blood collection procedures Prior leadership experience in a healthcare setting Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision plans Health Spending Accounts & Flexible Spending Accounts PTO: Starting 15 days a year; based on type of job and tenure Holidays: 11 paid holidays comprising six core holidays and five floating holidays 401K with up to 6% company match Paid Family Leave Employee Assistance Disability and Insurance: Short + Long Term Service Awards and recognition The American Red Cross is an Equal Opportunity employer.
