Provide individualized support that promotes independence, dignity, privacy, personal choice, and quality of life. Help individuals develop daily living, social, interpersonal, and community-based skills. Support individuals in building relationships and becoming actively involved in their communities. Provide transportation to medical appointments, school or day programs, community activities, religious services, family visits, recreational activities, and other approved destinations. Drive company vehicles safely and comply with all motor vehicle laws and organizational transportation requirements. Provide appropriate supervision, guidance, and assistance in accordance with each individual’s Individual Service Plan and Behavior Support Plan. Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of individualized goals and outcomes. Implement behavioral strategies and programs according to approved individualized plans. Provide trauma-informed care and help maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment. Administer medications and carry out prescribed healthcare programs after successfully completing all required training and authorization. Monitor individuals’ health, safety, and overall well‑being. Recognize and respond appropriately to crisis situations, medical concerns, behavioral needs, and emergencies. Complete required documentation accurately and on time, including daily logs, goal logs, medication records, incident reports, seizure records, behavior documentation, sleep and awake charts, weight charts, bowel movement charts, vehicle logs, fire drill logs, and consumer fund records. Maintain the confidentiality of individual information and records in accordance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and organizational policies. Report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or mistreatment in accordance with organizational policies and applicable reporting requirements. Assist with annual community residence licensing activities, inspections, inquiries, and investigations. Cooperate with organizational leadership and New Jersey Department of Human Services personnel during inspections, reviews, or investigations. Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and competency-based training programs. Accurately record hours worked through the organization’s timekeeping system. Work collaboratively with the Lead DSP, Residential Manager, families, coworkers, supervisors, funding sources, and other service providers. Assist the Residential Manager with special projects, on-call needs, and emergency situations when requested. Follow all organizational, safety, fire, OSHA, HIPAA, personnel, and New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities requirements. Perform other duties as assigned to support individuals and residential program operations. At least 21 years of age Valid driver’s license Clean and acceptable motor vehicle record Current vehicle registration and insurance when required Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and screenings Ability to successfully complete required pre-service and in-service training Ability to complete CPR, First Aid, medication administration, and other required certifications or training Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Proficiency in reading, writing, and documenting information in English Basic computer skills, including familiarity with email, Microsoft Office, electronic timekeeping, and documentation systems Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, families, coworkers, supervisors, and community partners Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation Preferred Associate or bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field Six months to one year of experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities or working in a human services setting Knowledge of trauma-informed care and trauma-informed environments Experience completing service documentation, medication records, incident reports, or individualized goal documentation Schedule Part-Time Saturday and Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Base rate: $19.16 per hour Schedule and work location may occasionally change based on program and individual support needs Flexibility may be required for training, staff meetings, emergencies, or coverage needs Physical Requirements This position may require the employee to: Stand or work for six to eight hours during a shift Sit for approximately two to three hours during a shift Drive a company vehicle for approximately one to four hours during a shift Bend, reach, stand, stoop, twist, climb stairs, and walk throughout the workday Assist individuals with personal care, mobility, and activities of daily living Lift or assist with more than 50 pounds when necessary to perform essential job responsibilities safely Operate vehicle or wheelchair lifts and other adaptive equipment Work in residential and community settings throughout New Jersey Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation Some jobs pay the bills.
