Environmental Health Safety Specialist

THIS IS A W2, 12+ MO CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL TO THE PLAQUEMINE, LA AREA AT TIME OF APPLICATION AND

RATE: $29 HR MAX (per diem is NOT offered)

SCHEDULE: 4/80 day shift plus overtime (with right of refusal if busy) and possibility of supporting nights for turnaround

MUST HAVES:

• EH&S background (environmental focus)
• Lab experience OR ability to learn lab environment
• Experience requirement: ~3-5 years
• Degree not required if equivalent experience is present

We’re looking for a hands-on EH&S Specialist / Field Maintenance Coordinator to support maintenance operations within a designated area of a large industrial facility. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the field, works well with cross-functional teams, and takes ownership of safety and performance.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance activity within an assigned zone
• Partner with foremen, technicians, and craft teams to ensure work is executed safely and efficiently
• Enforce site safety standards, procedures, and compliance requirements
• Identify and address issues in real time to keep work on schedule

⏱️ Schedule & Expectations

• Day shift role
• Frequent overtime (typically offered and expected)
• Weekend work is common
• Must be comfortable working in a high-visibility, field-based environment

A major turnaround is kicking off soon. Selected candidates may:

• Support long-term turnaround operations
• Have the opportunity to work night shift during the project
• Be consulted in advance regarding shift preferences and availability
