Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.About the RoleThe (Field) Service Machinist Supervisor is responsible for managing on-site machining operations in demanding industrial environments. This role is responsible for supervising field personnel, ensuring precision machining work meets strict tolerances, and delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate combines strong technical machining expertise with proven leadership and customer-facing skills.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate portable machining equipment lathes, line boring, flange facing, milling, drilling, and tapping.Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.Measure and inspect components using calipers, dial indicators, etc. Ensure proper alignment and tolerances are achieved.Maintain field equipment and tooling.Communicate with clients and supervisors regarding job progress and issues.Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent technical training.Proven experience as a machinist, preferably in field or industrial environment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Willingness to travel frequently and work in varying conditions outdoors, confined spaces, and heights.Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and stand for long periods.What We Offer You12 Paid Holidays15 Paid Time Off (PTO) DaysMedical, dental, vision, life & disability401K with 6% company matchEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee Wellness ProgramNew onsite cafeteria, all meals subsidized (La Porte Service Center)Sulzer is an equal opportunity employer.
