Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an Orthopedic and Surgical unit in accordance with RN scope of practice
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for orthopedic and post-surgical patients
• Work every other weekend as part of the standard scheduling rotation
• Float to clinically appropriate Med-Surg departments as needed, within licensure and demonstrated competencies

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois or compact licensure eligibility
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Willingness and ability to float to other Med-Surg units as clinically appropriate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an orthopedic, bone and joint, or surgical nursing setting
• Familiarity with post-operative patient care and recovery protocols
