Assistant Project Manager - Environmental Remediation & Demolition

Winter Environmental is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support complex environmental remediation, asbestos abatement, interior demolition, and specialty contracting projects throughout the Southeast and Eastern United States. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in environmental remediation, demolition, industrial construction, specialty contracting, or regulated construction environments who are looking to develop into a future Project Manager leadership role. You will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, field personnel, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to execute technically demanding projects in active industrial, healthcare, commercial, institutional, manufacturing, and government environments. Travel Required This position supports projects throughout the Southeast and Eastern United States. Travel is required based on project needs. Company‑paid travel expenses, lodging, and per diem are provided when applicable. What You’ll Do Support Project Managers in the planning and execution of asbestos abatement, lead remediation, mold remediation, interior demolition, and specialty environmental projects Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, logistics coordination, and field execution Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and project resources Track project documentation including RFIs, submittals, permits, manifests, waste documentation, reporting, and compliance records Support safety, regulatory compliance, quality control, and production‑driven project execution Assist with change orders, forecasting, cost tracking, billing support, and invoicing Participate in site visits, client meetings, subcontractor coordination, and field problem‑solving Coordinate with consultants, industrial hygienists, inspectors, and regulatory agencies Support project closeout, punch lists, turnover documentation, and final reporting Types of Projects Projects may include: Lead paint remediation Mold remediation Industrial cleaning and decommissioning Specialty environmental services Projects are commonly performed within Manufacturing plants Commercial and institutional buildings Government and federal facilities What We’re Looking For 2+ years of experience in environmental remediation, demolition, industrial construction, specialty contracting, or project coordination within regulated work environments Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in fast‑paced environments Experience coordinating field crews, subcontractors, vendors, or project logistics Strong communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities Working knowledge of safety and compliance requirements in construction or industrial environments Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Bluebeam Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel Preferred Qualifications Experience with asbestos abatement, lead remediation, mold remediation, demolition, or environmental services OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification HAZWOPER 40 certification Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Company‑paid travel expenses, lodging, and per diem when applicable Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off (PTO) Training, certifications, and professional development support Recruiting Agency Disclaimer Recruiting Agency Disclaimer: Winter Environmental and The Winter Construction Company do not accept unsolicited resumes from recruiters or employment agencies in response to job postings, career pages, or social media advertisements.
