Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred.

• BSN completion preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Qualivis Program - University of Virginia and no current placement allowed at Program: Qualivis Program - University of Virginia.

Required Credentials: Any hit on your license must be disclosed. Hits will be sent to UVA leadership for approval prior to proceeding.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience: Preferred Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Special Requests: Unable to approve time off around Christmas. Travelers are not eligible to return after reaching 365 total assignment days, regardless of time away.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. General medicine unit caring for respiratory, endocrine, cardiac, immune/infectious disease, and renal conditions, including respiratory illnesses, renal illnesses, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell disease, and cystic fibrosis. Nurse-driven heparin infusions, insulin drips via Glucomander, telemetry, nurse-driven flu vaccination, and CAPD.

Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. Every other weekend; must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays. Up to 40 hours of time off may be approved.

Floating Requirements: Must adhere to UVA’s float policy.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
