Data Scientist, Autonomy Behavior Monitoring

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Autonomy Integration Metrics team, where you will partner closely with behavior engineers and product stakeholders to develop and implement the metrics that define how well our system drives.In this role you will :Design, develop, and implement quantitative behavior metrics that assess AV performance across diverse driving scenarios and geofencesBuild and maintain data pipelines and dashboards to track simulation and fleet metrics across geographies and software versionsIdentify performance gaps and regressions by analyzing large-scale vehicle logs and simulation dataDrive the definition of metric thresholds and acceptance criteria to support geofence expansion decisionsCommunicate findings and metric frameworks clearly to technical and non-technical audiencesQualifications:B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on metric design and development or performance evaluationStrong proficiency in Python in production environments with standard repo practicesExperience working with time-series or sensor data; familiarity with robotics or AV data is a plusAbility to work cross-functionally and distill complex technical requirements from diverse stakeholdersBonus Qualifications:Proficiency in C++Experience with simulation-based validation and metrics$176,000 - $240,000 a yearBase Salary RangeThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.
