Location: San Leandro, CA (10948 Bigge Street)

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Ongoing / Contract-based

Shift: Varies; including the possibility of operating delivery van for STAT testing

Hours/Week: 40+ hours (flexible)

Employment Type: Full-time / Contract

License/Certifications: State-specific laboratory license preferred, relevant lab certifications needed

Experience: Previous laboratory or point of care testing experience preferred

Hourly Rate: $26.00 – $32.00 (plus possible travel stipends)

What You'll Do

• Collect patient specimens via venipuncture and capillary methods
• Receive and process specimens from phlebotomists and couriers
• Perform waived laboratory tests across Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Molecular, and Coagulation areas
• Enter patient data, test orders, and results into lab information systems
• Monitor quality control of reagents and instruments, troubleshoot issues as needed
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain detailed documentation
• Operate mobile lab vehicles, including transporting tests to high-volume sites when applicable
• Maintain inventory and ensure equipment maintenance and calibration
• Confirm abnormal results and report critical findings to supervisors
• Perform clerical duties related to specimen management and testing records

What You Need

Required:

• Valid laboratory or medical certification/license (state-dependent)
• Experience in clinical laboratory testing, point of care preferred
• Ability to perform venipuncture and specimen collection
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently

Preferred:

• Experience with lab automation and troubleshooting
• Ability to operate a delivery vehicle safely
• Flexibility to handle a variety of testing procedures and settings

About the Assignment This role supports a high-volume mobile laboratory servicing healthcare facilities across the country. You will be responsible for conducting waived testing, specimen processing, and quality monitoring in a dynamic, on-the-go environment. The work involves visiting various medical sites, ensuring quick and accurate test results, and maintaining high safety standards.
