Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool to join the team. This role will be full-time night shift, with days varying, 7:00 p.m. 7:30 a.m.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice
• Supports and empowers patient/families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective while providing counsel and acting as a resource to resolve issues
• Anticipates ethical, spiritual and cultural needs of patients and intervenes to maximize patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning
• Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation
• Evaluates the outcomes of documentation and contributes to related performance improvement initiatives
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and leads other disciplines to meet desired outcomes
• Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members
• Demonstrates evidence of self-development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintains own Team Member Continuing Education Record

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. If RNs have an Associate's Degree within 2 years of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1. Identify which school they plan to attend, 2. Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion; 3. Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required prerequisites and timeline for taking the courses, and 4. Complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• Licensure: Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
• Experience: Minimum of two years of nursing experience
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.
