Project Controls Manager

Location: Chicago (40% Nationwide Travel)

A leading electrical contractor delivering complex commercial, mission-critical and infrastructure projects is seeking a Project Controls Manager to support leadership, drive project performance, and improve forecasting accuracy across a growing national operation.

This is a highly visible role working closely with executive leadership, operations, project teams, and finance to provide clear insight into project health, profitability, schedule performance, and risk.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead cost forecasting, budgeting, and project performance reporting
Drive Cost-to-Complete (CTC) and Cost-at-Completion (CAC) forecasting accuracy
Monitor labor productivity, schedule performance, and margin risk
Develop executive dashboards, KPIs, and portfolio reporting
Support schedule management, risk analysis, and project recovery planning
Champion project management systems and technology adoption
Help build and standardize a scalable project controls function across multiple locations

Requirements:

7+ years of Project Controls, Project Management, or Construction Controls experience
Commercial construction background
Experience within electrical contracting or MEP environments
Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting capabilities
Experience with construction management software and advanced Excel skills
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field

Preferred:

Electrical contracting experience
Mission Critical / Data Center project exposure
Earned Value Management (EVM) expertise
Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project experience
PMP, PSP, PMI-SP, EVP, or similar certifications
