Event Designer - Life Sciences

LSI is seeking an Event Designer to lead strategy, programming, and content design for high-impact life sciences events, with a focus on medtech and biotech. This role defines why an event should exist, who it must attract, and what programming will create value for innovators, investors, strategic partners, healthcare leaders, and other key stakeholders. The Event Designer turns market intelligence, customer insight, and industry relationships into compelling events that advance healthcare innovation and sit at the center of important industry conversations. What You Will Own Event strategy and design Define each event’s market position, purpose, audience value proposition, content pillars, and success measures. Develop a clear thesis for why the event matters now and why priority audiences should participate. Design integrated experiences where content, networking, company presentations, meetings, and commercial opportunities reinforce one another. Contribute new event concepts based on unmet customer needs and emerging market opportunities. Create themes, tracks, session formats, agenda flow, and speaker profiles. Develop timely, commercially relevant sessions for founders, investors, corporate leaders, clinicians, operators, sponsors, and ecosystem partners. Prepare session concepts, titles, descriptions, moderator briefs, speaker guidance, and learning outcomes. Use formats such as panels, interviews, debates, roundtables, workshops, and case studies to maximize audience value. Market intelligence and relationships Stay close to innovation, investment, commercialization, partnership, regulatory, reimbursement, and care-delivery trends across medtech and biotech. Conduct customer, advisor, investor, founder, and internal stakeholder research to identify timely topics and emerging issues. Recruit and prepare credible speakers, moderators, advisors, and industry experts who attract priority audiences and strengthen the program. Build balanced perspectives and ensure each participant contributes meaningfully. Cross-functional execution Serve as strategic content lead from concept through onsite delivery and post-event evaluation. Partner with marketing, sales, sponsorship, audience development, operations, customer success, and leadership. Equip teams with audience value propositions, content narratives, market insights, and speaker announcements. Use feedback, registration patterns, audience mix, engagement, and retention indicators to improve future programs. Qualifications 5+ years of relevant experience in conference production, event programming, content strategy, journalism, market intelligence, consulting, investing, business development, or a related field. Experience building executive-level programs, preferably in life sciences, medtech, biotech, healthcare, venture capital, or private markets. Strong understanding of how life-science innovation is funded, developed, regulated, commercialized, and brought to patients. Ability to identify trends, conduct research, and translate complex information into compelling content. Experience recruiting and managing senior speakers, including founders, investors, executives, clinicians, researchers, and industry experts. Strong editorial judgment, commercial awareness, relationship-building skills, and project-management discipline. Willingness to travel and play a visible, hands-on role at events. Preferred Experience Relationships across medtech, biotech, healthcare investment, or corporate innovation communities. Familiarity with venture financing, private equity, strategic investment, licensing, M&A, clinical, regulatory, reimbursement, market-access, or commercialization pathways. Experience programming international events or using audience data, customer interviews, and event metrics to guide decisions. Comfort moderating executive discussions, conducting interviews, or representing an event publicly.
