Coating Production Operator (1st Shift) — Manitowoc, WI
Pay: $19.00/hour Type: Try-Before-Hire
If you enjoy hands-on production work and take pride in quality, this is a great opportunity to get trained across multiple stations in a coating/finishing environment.
Schedule
- 1st shift: 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM Monday–Thursday
- Mandatory Friday OT: 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
What You'll Do
You may work in either a large-coil or small-coil department and will be trained on a variety of stations, including:
- Crating/uncrating customer equipment and matching paperwork
- Surface preparation and general prep work
- Dipping coils into coating tanks
- Spraying coils with primer and/or coatings
- Straightening fins on metal coils and placing caps on open coil tubes
- Operating overhead cranes/hoists with a hand-held remote to raise/lower coils into etching, degreasing, and dip tanks
- Moving coils on carts into ovens and moving drums/materials into the department
- Inspecting coils to ensure even paint/coating coverage
- Cleaning as needed and maintaining a safe work environment
What We're Looking For
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for up to 10 hours
- Ability to wear a respirator
- Self-motivated and dependable; able to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with paint/coatings, chemicals, spray guns, or paint spraying is helpful (training provided)
