Yard Driver

Job Description


Premier Staffing Solution is hiring experienced Class A Yard Drivers for one of our clients in Louisville, KY. As a Class A Yard Driver, you will be responsible for moving trailers to and from the dock doors as necessary. Mandatory overtime is possible and likely. This is a direct hire full time position that offers competitive compensation with paid holidays, vacation, and 401k plan. Yard Drivers are members of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 89.


Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL License preferred

• High school diploma or GED

• Yard Spotting experience is highly preferred

• Minimum 1 year of verifiable work experience

• Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) and background

• Current DOT medical card, or the ability to obtain one

• Abide by all OSHA rules, DOT regulations and Premier Staffing Solution Safety Practices

• Abide by all rules and regulations as they pertain to the Teamsters Contract

What to expect as a Class A Yard Driver:

• Prioritize workload

• Perform inspection of vehicle prior to and after operation

• Move trailers in and out of dock as directed by management

• Chock trailers as they are spotted for loading and unloading

• Orderly maintenance of the yard

• Inspection of trailers prior to loading

• Will be responsible for inputting data into a Yard Management System

• Maintain a Level of Service within a 2 hour turn around

• Ensure cleanliness of work area is maintained

• Ensure Health and Safety requirements are met

• Cross training as required

• Other duties as needed or assigned
