We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our team as a Claims Supervisor in our Omaha, NE office. Position Overview The Claims Supervisor provides leadership, oversight, and technical expertise for the claims function, ensuring that claims made by and against Catholic Mutual clients are handled efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with coverage provisions, company standards, and industry best practices. This role supervises claims staff, supports complex claims investigations and resolution efforts, and promotes exceptional service to members while contributing to the overall success of the Claims Department. Key Responsibilities Supervise and oversee the handling of property and casualty claims to ensure timely, accurate, and fair claim resolution Review policy coverages, authorize settlements or claim denials, and provide technical guidance to Claims team members Monitor claim handling activities to ensure compliance with company procedures, legal requirements, and industry standards Supervise and mentor claims staff through file reviews, coaching, training, and performance feedback Assign and oversee work performed by independent adjusters, including investigation and settlement activities Conduct quality audits of claims files and provide recommendations for improvement and development Assist in establishing departmental performance standards and evaluating results against expectations Participate in employee evaluations and professional development initiatives for claims staff Review and improve Claims Department procedures, guidelines, and best practices to enhance efficiency and service quality Handle select claims directly through telephone and written correspondence when appropriate Travel to significant loss locations as needed to support clients, adjusters, and claim resolution efforts Coordinate communications with reinsurers, including loss reporting and reimbursement requests Review legal and regulatory developments affecting claims operations and communicate relevant updates to staff Collaborate with underwriting, risk management, and other departments to ensure consistent member service Participate in seminars, training sessions, and client meetings to explain claims philosophy, procedures, and coverages Respond to emergency claims situations and after-hours calls when necessary Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; coursework or professional training in insurance, claims administration, risk management, or a related field preferred Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible claims handling experience Prior experience supervising, training, and developing professional staff Strong knowledge of property, liability, automobile, and workers’ compensation claims handling practices Working knowledge of insurance coverages, claims investigation techniques, settlement practices, and applicable regulations Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong leadership, coaching, and relationship-building abilities Demonstrated ability to develop and enforce operational standards and procedures Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and sound judgment Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave 403(b) retirement plan with company match Paid life and AD&D insurance and long-term disability coverage Paid job-related continuing education Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance 36-hour work week with Friday afternoons off Hybrid work schedule and flexible hours available after initial training Relaxed business casual dress code Catholic Mutual Group is an equal opportunity employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
