Staff PharmacistJob OverviewDuties and ResponsibilitiesReview, verify, and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with physician orders and applicable regulationsEvaluate medication orders for appropriateness, accuracy, drug interactions, allergies, dosing, and therapeutic duplicationsProvide pharmaceutical consultation and support to nurses, prescribers, facility staff, patients, and caregivers as appropriateSupervise and direct the daily activities of Pharmacy Technician I, II, III, and Intake Coordinator staffDelegate responsibilities to pharmacy technicians while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations governing technician dutiesMonitor workflow and staffing needs to ensure timely processing and delivery of medicationsSupport onboarding, training, coaching, and performance development of pharmacy technician staffAssist with scheduling, workflow coordination, and operational problem-solving within the pharmacyEnsure compliance with all controlled substance regulations, medication storage requirements, and recordkeeping standardsVerify and maintain accurate pharmacy documentation, including dispensing records, medication destruction records, and inventory logsParticipate in medication cart reviews, cycle fill processes, stat order management, and emergency medication servicesAssist with inventory management activities including medication ordering oversight, shortage management, expiration monitoring, and recall proceduresMaintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA requirements, and company policiesParticipate in quality assurance initiatives, medication safety programs, audits, and continuous process improvement effortsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environmentPerform other duties as assigned by the Director of PharmacyProvide training, coaching, performance feedback, and workflow oversightAssist with technician competency evaluations and performance improvement initiativesPromote teamwork, accountability, and adherence to pharmacy policies and proceduresServe as pharmacist-on-duty and provide operational leadership in the absence of pharmacy management as assignedRequirementsDoctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited school of PharmacyCurrent and active Pharmacist license in the State of Colorado in good standingAbility to supervise and direct pharmacy technician staff effectivelyStrong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and medication safety standardsStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and clinical judgmentEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentPrevious long-term care pharmacy experience preferredPrevious supervisory or leadership experience preferredExperience with pharmacy management systems and automated dispensing technology preferredKnowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party billing processes preferredAdditional Job Description InformationBenefits are available to eligible employees on the first of the month after 30 days of employment and include:Hourly Rate of $59 - $62Health, Dental & Vision CoverageHealth Savings Accounts (HSA-available if enrolled in a high deductible plan)Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA & LPFSA)Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts (DCRA)Employee Assistance Program (EAP-available if enrolled in Health plan)401(k) retirement planPaid Time Off (PTO)100% Company Paid Basic Life Insurance (if enrolled in Health plan)Voluntary Life InsuranceShort & Long-Term DisabilityCritical Illness/Accident InsuranceHospital Indemnity InsuranceIdentity Protection PlanLegal Care PlanPet Discount ProgramAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.#IND123EEO Statement:At MGA, we prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in both our organization and the communities we serve.
