Geotechnical Engineer

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Geotechnical Engineer I for our Virginia Beach, VA office! This Opportunity Be involved in projects with our Geotechnical & Tunneling Team and be part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. Your Impact Planning, estimating, and conducting subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs in soil and rock Interacting with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, drillers, and clients confidently and professionally Performing geotechnical analyses and designing tunnels, foundations, embankments, pavements, and earth retaining systems for transit, transportation, buildings, and water projects Preparing geotechnical memoranda, data, and design reports Preparing design drawings and specifications Making responsible and ethical decisions regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies Performing additional responsibilities as required by business needs Who You Are Required Qualifications 1 to 3 years of geotechnical experience Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering Responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks, follow instructions, work independently, and comply with policies Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health, safety, and harassment policies
