Design Engineer for Products
Gables Search Group
The Design Engineer for Products in Michigan City, IN will be responsible for creating innovative component-level products from initial concept to production. Working closely with various teams, they will ensure that components meet performance, cost, reliability, and regulatory standards.Generate new design layouts based on customer CAD data and specifications.Create cost estimates for new or modified designs.Oversee design projects from inception to manufacturing.Collect data from customer feedback and on-site visits to address and resolve prototype, pre-production, warranty, or product enhancement issues.Stay informed about customer needs and product usage.Conceive and develop new product concepts.Establish and implement departmental procedures following IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 guidelines.Provide support for all major platform engineering analysis requirements.Perform design calculations using manual or computerized methods.Utilize drafting techniques, engineering protocols, and CAD systems to determine optimal methods, equipment, and processes.Validate designs for compliance with specifications and quality standards.Offer technical product expertise to internal and external stakeholders.Requirements · Engineering or Engineering Technology Bachelor's Degree.· 3-5+ years of experience in a relevant product design field.· Proficiency in CAD software.· Familiarity with manufacturing processes.· Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.· Strategic and analytical thinker.
