Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 or 48 hours per week available. Self-scheduling based on unit needs with manager input. Every other weekend required. Contract length 13 weeks or longer through February 27.

Highlights:

• Surgical patient population including colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, orthopedics/spine, GI, and vascular procedures
• Patient ratio of 1:6 with strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• 39-bed unit with a daily census of approximately 35 patients
• Epic charting system with Pyxis and SBAR
• 36-hour orientation period with self-scheduling flexibility
• Occasional floating required; block scheduling requests reviewed on a case-by-case basis

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Epic charting system experience required
• Strong IV start and telemetry skills essential
• Experience with post-surgical patients in general surgery, orthopedics/spine, GI, vascular, and hepatobiliary specialties
• Proficiency in blood product administration, central line management, chest tubes, wound care, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
