Job Description

A qualified Registered Nurse is needed to work in a high-risk and high-volume Labor and Delivery unit. The RN will function in the capacity of a Baby Nurse during deliveries and provide continuous care to newborns until they are transferred to postpartum.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments and provide care for mothers and newborns in the Labor and Delivery unit.
• Circumvent and monitor high-risk deliveries and provide support as needed.
• Administer medications and perform necessary procedures including newborn assessments and Vitamin K injections.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure adherence to AWHONN guidelines and safety protocols.
• Float to postpartum and antepartum as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a high acuity, fast-paced environment.
• Current RN licensure with active compact license.
• Proven supervisory references required.
• Certifications: BLS, NRP required; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and Intermediate preferred.
• Experience in circulating during deliveries and providing newborn care, including assessments and medication administration.
• Prior travel experience is required, and first-time travelers will not be accepted.
