Business Development Director, Data Center Hyperscaler

Gen-Systems Power Solutions develops scalable power solutions for customers requiring reliable, flexible, and rapidly deployable energy infrastructure. As AI and data center development continue to increase power demand, Gen-Systems is expanding its commercial presence across distributed generation and mission-critical power applications. This role will help shape that expansion by developing strategic hyperscale relationships and creating commercial opportunities before customer power strategies are fully defined. AI, cloud, and hyperscale data center growth are creating unprecedented demand for reliable power. Gen-Systems Power Solutions is expanding its presence in the data center market and is seeking a Business Development Director with direct hyperscaler or large-scale digital infrastructure experience to help build that business. This position is focused on developing strategic relationships and commercial opportunities with hyperscalers, colocation providers, data center developers, utilities, EPCs, and other critical infrastructure partners. The strongest candidates will have worked directly within, or closely alongside, organizations such as Google, AWS, Microsoft, Meta, Oracle Cloud, Equinix, Digital Realty, QTS, CyrusOne, Vantage, CoreWeave, or comparable hyperscale and data center companies , with exposure to energy, power, infrastructure, strategic partnerships, site development, or utility engagement. What You Will Do Develop executive-level relationships with hyperscalers, colocation providers, data center developers, utilities, EPCs, and strategic energy partners Build and manage a qualified pipeline of data center power opportunities across North America Engage customers early, before power architecture, procurement strategy, and vendor selection are finalized Identify customer requirements involving power availability, grid constraints, utility interconnection, resiliency, redundancy, and speed-to-power Position Gen-Systems solutions involving onsite generation, distributed power, natural gas generation, BESS, microgrids, controls, and related infrastructure Lead opportunities from initial customer engagement through qualification, commercial strategy, proposal development, negotiation, and project award Develop strategic account plans for priority hyperscale and data center customers Coordinate with engineering, operations, product, finance, legal, and executive leadership throughout the commercial process Monitor utility constraints, large-load development, competitor activity, and emerging data center power strategies Maintain accurate pipeline, forecast, account, and opportunity visibility for leadership Required Qualifications 10+ years of business development, strategic sales, partnerships, account development, or commercial leadership experience Direct experience working for or with hyperscalers, cloud infrastructure providers, colocation companies, or major data center developers Established relationships with decision-makers involved in data center infrastructure, energy procurement, utility strategy, power development, or site expansion Demonstrated experience developing large, complex commercial opportunities Understanding of data center power challenges including grid availability, utility timelines, resiliency, behind-the-meter generation, and speed-to-power Experience developing opportunities before a formal RFQ or RFP is issued Ability to engage executive, commercial, engineering, utility, and infrastructure stakeholders Demonstrated pipeline development and strategic account management experience Ability to travel for customer meetings, industry events, and strategic pursuits Houston-area presence Preferred Experience Direct employment with a hyperscaler or major cloud infrastructure company Data center energy or infrastructure strategy Utility and energy procurement Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Microgrids Power conversion and controls EPC or mission-critical infrastructure Strategic energy partnerships Ability to show: Existing relationships within the hyperscale and data center ecosystem Experience gaining access to customers before procurement begins Ability to convert strategic relationships into qualified commercial opportunities Measurable pipeline, bookings, revenue, or account growth Understanding of how power availability affects data center site selection and expansion Experience working across hyperscaler, utility, developer, EPC, technical, and executive stakeholders Experience helping build a new market or commercial platform rather than inheriting an established territory Work Location Houston, TX This role requires regular collaboration with Gen-Systems leadership and technical teams at our Houston JFK location, as well as customer travel throughout North America. #J-18808-Ljbffr GenSystems Power Solutions
