Maintenance Generalist - 2nd shift - Iva Lee Feed Mill

Job Overview Position responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to Tyson policies and procedures. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and repair on all feed mill equipment and facilities. Assist in spare parts inventory control and procurement. Maintain all records as required by Tyson and regulatory agencies. Troubleshoot maintenance issues as needed. Maintain knowledge of and comply with all safety, electrical, hot works, environmental, lock‑out/tag‑out, forklift, rail car mover, boiler and other relevant policies. Requirements Intermediate computer skills, proficiency in Windows programs such as Word and Excel. Must pass Tyson forklift training test within 30 days. Good mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical, electrical, power transmissions, motor control, conveyors, pneumatics, plumbing, welding, and fabrication. Experience with PLCs and hydraulics is a plus. Ability to operate small tools and welders and troubleshoot problems. Valid Alabama driver’s license with good driving record. Willingness to work extra hours, overtime, weekends, holidays, and be on call. Capable of climbing vertical ladders up to 100 ft., lifting 50–100 lbs., stooping, bending, squatting, climbing, pushing, pulling, and working in high, elevated areas. Able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive hand and wrist motions. Willing to wear appropriate personal protection and safety equipment. Must be able to work in inclement conditions, including hot, dusty environments ranging 10°F to over 100°F. Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Minimum of six (6) months of industrial maintenance experience or graduate of a maintenance training program.
