This full-time, full school year (FSY) contract assignment features a manageable caseload and the rewarding chance to make a direct impact.

Responsibilities include providing specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, developing and monitoring IEPs, and working collaboratively with general education teachers and other service providers. As part of your role, you’ll adapt curriculum and learning materials to accommodate individual needs and advocate for accessibility and inclusion within the school community. With a small caseload, you can dedicate focused energy to delivering high-quality, individualized support to each student in your care.

Qualifications:

• Active and valid Washington state teaching license with appropriate endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
• Demonstrated experience or training with specialized teaching strategies for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Strong understanding of audiological support, assistive technologies, and language development techniques.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to collaborate with families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Flexibility and creativity in lesson planning and classroom management.

Key Duties:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide individualized instruction.
• Modify general education curriculum to meet unique student needs.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing progress monitoring.
• Offer consultation and resources to staff and parents to ensure consistency and support beyond the classroom setting.
