BrightFarms' fresh lettuce options, from classic greens to crunchy mixes and salad kits, are available in more than 4,500 retail stores across the East Coast, Midwest, and South.Our Lorena, Texas farm is the largest and most advanced greenhouse in the state, delivering fresh, locally grown leafy greens to Texans year-round. Spanning nearly 480,000 square feet, this facility will produce approximately 6 million pounds of leafy greens annually.Job Purpose / Summary / ObjectiveResponsible for day-to-day maintenance and preventative maintenance. Ensure all work is carried out in a safe and orderly manner. Enforces protocols and documentation as related to OSHA and food safety.Duties / ResponsibilitiesKeep a running list of all maintenance issues turned in by Team Leads or other facility department managersTrack on a weekly basis PM performedPrioritize all maintenance orders with the production manager in order to target the right issues at the right timeFacilitate safety and the safety of all employees within the supervisory groupEnsure proper inventory levels of tools and partsTrack safety related repairs to provide compliance with OSHA and other state and Federal AgenciesEnsure all greenhouses are maintained to ensure quality growing conditionsDelegate responsibility effectively to team members to maintain all work areas in clean and in good working conditions to ensure compliance with all OSHA, state, and Federal RegulationsTrain, guide, direct and motivate team members in roles and responsibilities by providing direction, setting, and monitoring performance expectations.Schedules maintenance with outside contractorsMust be able to effectively communicate with employees to prescribe training needed related to troubleshooting equipment.Required Qualifications2-4 years of College or trade school or equivalent work experience2-4 years of experience in a greenhouse production environment or related work experience desiredFood or agriculture industry experience preferredTraining in Food Safety and SanitationAbility to create documents such as training manuals, preventative maintenance programAbility to make calculations necessary to solve complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing problemsPreferred QualificationsBilingual preferredKey Values & Characteristics of Candidates:Authentically Green. Maintenance will have exposure to seasonal conditions which may range from extreme heat and humidity in the summer to cold in the winter. Often working near moving mechanical parts. The noise level of machines and cooling units can be loud.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, employees are expected to sometimes use hands to finger, handle or feel. Frequently standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. The lifting requirements to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
