Pulmonologist / Critical Care Physician

This hospital system is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine physician to join its medical team, delivering comprehensive pulmonary and critical care services to a diverse patient population in the Wiregrass region of Alabama. This is an inpatient and outpatient practice within a regional healthcare system with an established referral network and advanced critical care capabilities.

Schedule: Full time, inpatient and outpatient practice.

Compensation: $350,000 to $500,000 or more per year, based on experience and training, with productivity/RVU incentive potential.

What You'll Do: This physician manages critically ill patients in the ICU setting and evaluates and treats complex pulmonary disorders, including respiratory failure, COPD, asthma, pulmonary hypertension, and pneumonia. The role includes conducting ICU consultations in collaboration with hospitalists and other specialists, providing evaluations and follow up care in the pulmonary clinic, and performing procedures including bronchoscopy and other critical care interventions. This physician also engages in quality improvement and evidence based practice initiatives, mentors residents and medical students, and maintains accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Alabama
  • Active or eligible DEA registration
  • Strong clinical and procedural skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience mentoring residents or medical students in an academic or teaching hospital setting
  • Experience with advanced critical care procedures beyond bronchoscopy
  • ACLS certification
