Contract Tax Attorney

LHH is partnering with a valued client to identify a Temporary Tax Attorney with the potential to transition into a temp-to-hire opportunity. This position offers the chance to work on sophisticated estate, trust, fiduciary, and individual tax matters while collaborating with experienced legal and financial professionals in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review fiduciary, estate, gift, trust, and individual income tax returns, including Forms 1041, 706, 709, and 1040
• Advise on estate planning, trust administration, and wealth transfer matters
• Conduct legal and tax research related to federal and state tax laws
• Assist with tax planning strategies and complex tax-related issues
• Support audits, examinations, tax authority inquiries, and compliance matters
• Collaborate with attorneys, fiduciaries, accountants, and professional staff on client projects
• Manage multiple matters simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy
• Monitor tax law developments and provide practical recommendations

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree required; active Pennsylvania license required
• 2+ years of experience in tax, estate planning, trust administration, or fiduciary matters preferred
• Experience preparing or reviewing Forms 1041, 706, 709, and 1040 strongly preferred
• Knowledge of federal and state tax laws, estate planning, and trust administration
• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Experience with tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel preferred
• Estate planning, wealth transfer, or fiduciary tax experience highly desirable

Anticipated Pay Rate: $50 to $80 per hour
