Dentist (Chelan) - $40,000 Sign on and Relocation Bonus!

Dentist 2 chair: $170,300 - $212,100 (Based on 2-3 chairs and productivity pay components)

Dentist 3 chair:$189,900 - $273,000 (Based on 2-3 chairs and productivity pay components)

Job Summary
The Dentist provides professional dental care, emergency dental treatment and oral hygiene to the patients of Columbia Valley Community Health (CVCH), including all relevant and required chart documentation.

Job Specific Competencies
1. Follows all procedures as outlined in the Clinic Safety Manual and Dental Clinic Bloodborne Pathogen Compliance Manual
a. Explains the rationale for infection control and occupational safety protocols according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) hazard communication standards.
b. Demonstrates Universal Precautions techniques.
2. Delivers dental care according to clinic protocols and procedures.
3. Provides general and comprehensive dentistry services at CVCH, including performing oral examinations.
4. Examines patients' teeth and oral soft and hard tissues using dental equipment and X-rays. Interprets x-rays; treats mouth diseases; performs prophylactic procedures, restorations and other treatment as needed.
5. Updates health history on all patients.
6. Establishes working relationships with local dental providers.
7. Diagnoses dental conditions and plan oral health care in consultation with patients.
8. Provides dental care within the scope of licensure, standard of care, scope of care of the clinic, and according to WAC guidelines and regulations.
9. Coordinates patient needs with Medical Clinic.
10. Teaches patients about good oral health practices and explains and reviews treatment plans with patients and parents.
11. Performs emergency procedures on patients in order to reduce or eliminate immediate pain providing definitive care, when possible.
12. Performs surgical operations to the mouth, jaws, teeth and related structures.
13. Administers local, general, and inhalation anesthetics when necessary for carrying out treatment.
14. Responsible for dental clinic operation in absence of Dental Clinic Management.
15. Assists in the provision of continuing education, on-the-job training and the orientation of dental staff and overall improvement of CVCH.
16. Travels to other sites and covers other schedules when necessary to fulfill the organizational and departmental needs and attends meetings as necessary.

8. Conforms to CVCH policies and Joint Commission and HIPAA regulations.

Job Specifications
1. Education: Graduation from an accredited dental school with a DDS or DMD degree, and/or completion with a certificate from a CODA accredited dental residency program.

2. Certification/Licensure: Washington State Dental License or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of WA and current DEA with no restrictions and in good standing. Maintain documentation of all WAC requirements including continuing education and any other requirements accordingly. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. ACLS or ATLS may be used to substituted for BLS. All Providers must be eligible for enrollment in Medicare and must not be currently opted out of the Medicare program

3. Experience: One or more years of experience as a clinical dentist preferred, especially in a community or public health setting. Completing a residency program will count toward the experience level.

4. Language Skills: Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

5. Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Good eye/hand coordination and precision, manual dexterity and patience for minute movement, strong sense of aesthetics. Perform complex and comprehensive dental care on a variety of patients. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to work in a fast-paced and often high-stress environment as well as the ability to adapt quickly to workload changes.

6. Interpersonal Skills: Must demonstrate strong leadership and team building skills. Must have strong listening, written and oral communication skills, with ability to communicate clearly. Must demonstrate ability to work with basic computer skills including MS Office products, such as Word, Excel, Teams Outlook, etc., and our electronic dental records software (NextGen)/electronic medical records software (Athena). Must have the ability to understand and respond effectively and with sensitivity to children. Must have a caring attitude, commitment to serving low-income people; desire to work with all types of people, ability to calm nervous patients. Train and evaluate assigned staff. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Work with various cultural and ethnic groups in a tactful and efficient manner. Ability to work at all site locations with diverse staff.

7. Essential Physical Requirements: Prolonged sitting or standing may be required. Those physical movements and the degree of mobility normally associated with the practice of primary care dentistry will be performed on a repetitive basis. The ability to distinguish letters and symbols, as well as the ability to utilize telephones, computer terminals, and copiers is required. Work under stressful conditions as well as irregular hours may be required. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 20 pounds using proper lifting techniques and standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day. Ability to hold dental equipment in patient's mouth for long periods of time.

8. Essential Mental Abilities: On a continuous basis, know and understand all aspects of the job; intermittently analyze work papers, reports and special projects; identify and interpret technical and numerical information; observe and problem solve operational and technical policies and procedures; explain dental procedures. Requires a comprehensive knowledge of primary dental care in outpatient settings. Knowledge of the principles and practice of modern dentistry as related to community health programs as well as current social and economic problems pertaining to public health and their impact on primary health care. Knowledge of and compliance with state and federal laws pertaining to dentistry, community health centers, and public dental health.

9. Essential Sensory Requirements: Essential sensory requirements include the ability to: read computer keyboard, monitor, and documents; prepare and analyze documents; read extensively; hear, recognize, and assess verbal presentations of patients; receive and convey detailed information orally, by telephone and in person; convey accurate and detailed instructions by speaking to others in person and by telephone.

10. Exposure to Hazards: Exposure to or use of sharps, potentially dangerous chemicals, exposure to body fluids/blood/tissue. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, radiation and other conditions common to a clinical environment may routinely be encountered.

Each year after that employee will accrue 8 hours of PTO each year, on their anniversary date, until they reach a maximum of 208 hours at 10+ years.

Paid Leave may be used immediately for sick leave and after 3 months employment for vacation. Maximum accrual cap of 320 hours; hours in excess of 320 hours will automatically transfer into the employees EIB. If an employee is within their 90-day introductory period and does not have holiday pool hours available, PTO may be used to cover the holiday if the employee has an available balance.

Extended Illness Bank (EIB)

Allows for maximum accrual of 200 hours

PTO hours in excess of 320 will transfer into EIB. Employees are eligible to use EIB hours after at least 3 consecutive scheduled working days of PTO (max 24 hours) which have been used for a personal illness and/or a qualifying event under FMLA or the WA Family Care Act.

• Christmas Day

Holidays are based on an 8-hour day. Providers will receive a holiday pool of 64 hours as a 1.0 FTE at the beginning of each calendar year. Holiday pool hours must be used by December 31 of each calendar year; unused holiday pool hours will be forfeited. If an employee starts after the calendar year has begun, holiday hours will be prorated based on remaining holidays in the calendar year.

Diversity Days

3 Diversity Days

Available after the first payroll cycle after start date. Diversity days will be prorated based on start date as outlined below:

• Jan 1- April 30: 3 diversity days (24 hours if 1.0 FTE)

• May 1 - August 31: 2 diversity days (16 hours if 1.0 FTE)

• Sept 1 - Dec 31: 1 diversity day (8 hours if 1.0 FTE)

Spanish Immersion

$2,000

Employer will reimburse Provider up to $2,000, for participating in Pop Wuj Spanish Immersion program in Guatemala, or La Hacienda Spanish School in Mexico, for a minimum 3-week period, prior to the Provider's initial start date.

40 Hrs/ $3,000 per year based on 1.0 FTE this will include BLS Certification renewal if completed offsite and not in house. CVCH provides BLS renewal in house for employees whose job description and license require one.

Available immediately. CE is loaded the first full pay period in January of each year and available to maintain licensure while working at CVCH. CE must be used by December 31 of each calendar year; unused CE will be forfeited. CE will be prorated based on start date into calendar year. CE is not available during provider's termination notice period.

Tuition Reimbursement

For approved courses, the cost of tuition, books, and lab fees may be reimbursed at 75% of the actual costs up to a maximum of:

• $4,000 for an Associate's degree, vocational, technical, or certification program

• $6,000 for a Bachelor's degree

• $8,000 for a Master's degree

Upon approval; regular employees who work at least 20 hours per week, have successfully passed their evaluation period and are in good standing may apply.

Employees must agree to work for a period of two (2) years from the date of receipt of tuition reimbursement and obtain satisfactory completion of approved courses or Challenge Exams.
