Enterprise Architect Divisional Lead

Enterprise Architect – Workforce Benefits Division Pacific Life is seeking an Enterprise Architect to lead technology direction, adoption, and experimentation within the Workforce Benefits Division (WBD) at our Newport Beach or Charlotte locations. Responsibilities External Environment: Analyze global technology trends in the insurance industry and assess potential disruptive influences. Internal Environment: Study business motivations and the interconnection of business and technology capabilities. Consulting Support: Provide advisory services, serve on technology decision‑making committees, act as a trusted expert at the transformation ideation phase. Solution Development: Design and iterate architecture solutions for key initiatives and special projects. Architecture Assurance: Ensure that Solution Architects develop Low‑Level Designs that adhere to governance based on High‑Level Designs. Required Knowledge Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field, or equivalent experience. Broad knowledge of financial services (insurance) with depth in at least three domains: Business, Applications, Data, Integration, Infrastructure, Security. Workplace Benefits experience is a plus. Required Skills Consensus building, communication, facilitation, negotiation, and relationship building. Working knowledge of business, operating, and financial models; cost/benefit and risk analysis. Consulting experience and navigation of organizational politics. Experience 15+ years of progressive technology experience, with 7.5+ years in an architectural role. Technical team leadership experience is a plus. What Makes You Stand Out Proven record of collaborating with business and leadership stakeholders to develop strategy and link it to execution. Experience facilitating innovation: collecting, analyzing, refining, and managing trends, disruptions, opportunities, and ideas. Pragmatic understanding of applying Machine Learning, Large Language Models, Agentic AI, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, and related technologies to real‑world business and technology opportunities. Benefits Base pay range: $167,850.00 – $205,150.00 (dependent on experience, qualifications, and location).
