Make a meaningful impact by supporting an elementary student as an ASL Paraprofessional in a contract position (32 hours per week) located near the 95901 zip code. In this role, you’ll work one-on-one with a young male student at an elementary level, providing exceptional communication assistance and helping shape an encouraging learning environment. This is an opportunity to utilize your American Sign Language (ASL) fluency and engage directly in supporting students’ educational journeys.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is essential
• Prior experience as a paraprofessional in school settings preferred, especially working with elementary-aged students
• Passion for supporting children’s educational and social development
• Ability to follow IEPs and collaborate closely with educators, therapists, and families
• Patient, reliable, and energetic approach to student advocacy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• No EIPA required for this role

Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with a male elementary student to provide daily ASL interpretation and academic support
• Facilitate clear, accurate communication between the student and school staff, peers, and instructors
• Implement and reinforce classroom accommodations, modifications, and strategies as directed by the educational team
• Encourage active participation and engagement in classroom and extracurricular activities
• Support the student’s social, emotional, and behavioral growth throughout the school day
• Monitor progress and provide input to the educational team regarding student needs
