Job Description And Position Requirements

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Work Shift: Monday - Friday: Times to Be Determined | No Nights, Calls, Holidays or Weekends!

Type(s): Part-Time | PRN

Summary of the Job:

Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and to provide care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members. Supervises the activities of Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants, Monitor Technicians, Certified Nursing Assistance, Nurse Technicians and Unit Clerks that may be involved in the care of patients within the department.

Performs essential functions needed to carryout Stress Testing, Transesophageal Echo, Cardioversion, Tilt Table Testing, Holter Monitor Scanning, Bubble Study, & EKG.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current LA RN Licensure. Current BLS and ALS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.

Physical Demands: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) - hearing, seeing Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking Occasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching
