TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum tenens coverage for the Neuroscience ICU at a Level I Trauma Center in Greenville, North Carolina. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly specialized multidisciplinary neuroscience team caring for critically ill neurological patients. Job Type Locum Tenens Specialty Neuroscience ICU (Acute Care NP/PA) Location Greenville, North Carolina Coverage Needed Day Shift (7:00 AM 7:00 PM): December 26 January 1 Night Shift (7:00 PM 7:00 AM): Ongoing beginning January 2027 Position Highlights Inpatient Neuroscience ICU only 12-hour shifts No clinic responsibilities No call required No Emergency Department backup Provider responds to codes Average inpatient census: 20 Average patient load: 4 patients per provider Average admissions: 2 per day 20-bed Neuroscience ICU EPIC EMR Orientation required the day before the first scheduled shift Clinical Responsibilities Provide comprehensive ICU-level care for critically ill neuroscience patients Perform daily assessments, treatment planning, and patient management Collaborate with neurosurgeons, neurologists, neurointensivists, nursing, and multidisciplinary care teams Perform bedside procedures including: Arterial line placement Central line placement Lumbar punctures Ventilator management Requirements Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Acute Care certification required Minimum 1 year of ICU or Neuroscience ICU experience Demonstrated ability to independently provide ICU-level care Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required) Facility Highlights 974-bed Level I Trauma Center Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center Established neuroscience program utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to neurological care Collaborative team including: 10 Neurosurgeons 20+ Neurologists 4 Vascular Neurologists 4 Neurointensivists 13 Neurology subspecialists Dedicated Neuroscience ICU team consisting of 4 physicians and 11 Advanced Practice Providers providing 24/7 coverage TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is a specialized healthcare recruiting firm connecting clinicians with high-quality locum tenens and permanent opportunities nationwide.
