Our client is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to supervise, manage, and maintain controls on existing and new manufacturing equipment. This is a hands-on engineering role supporting production, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives while helping drive operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical and control systems ranging from high-voltage AC to low-voltage DC circuits.
- Develop and implement controls solutions for integrated manufacturing cells, including:
- Die casting equipment
- Industrial robots
- Cooling systems
- Trim equipment
- Conveyors
- Machine vision systems
- Develop controls solutions for secondary manufacturing equipment.
- Specify and support new manufacturing equipment installations.
- Develop and maintain equipment documentation and reporting systems.
- Provide technical support and leadership to production, maintenance, engineering, and other departments.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
- Research and implement new technologies to improve manufacturing processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special engineering projects.
- Assist with spare parts planning and equipment sourcing recommendations.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Skilled Trade Certification (Industrial Electrician or Millwright) preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of Controls Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Allen-Bradley PLC programming and ladder logic.
- Machine controls design and troubleshooting.
- Experience commissioning and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment.
- Hands-on electrical troubleshooting in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation systems.
- Robotic programming and controls.
- Project management.
- AutoCAD, CAD/CAM, or similar drafting software.
- Machine vision systems.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project/Timeline).
