Animal Care Technician

Your primary responsibility will be to provide daily husbandry care to research animals, ensuring their health and well-being. This role requires adherence to departmental standard operating procedures, state and federal regulations, and accrediting agency guidelines. Location: Mattawan , MI Compensation: $19/hour Responsibilities as the Animal Care Technician: Provide daily care for laboratory animals, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring health. Administer medications and perform treatments as directed by veterinary staff. Assist in animal restraint techniques during procedures to ensure safety for both the animals and staff. Maintain accurate records of animal health, treatments, and observations. Implement aseptic techniques during surgical procedures to prevent infection. Support veterinary critical care as needed, including monitoring vital signs and responding to emergencies. Collaborate with veterinary technicians in performing animal catheterization when required. Assist with front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and managing client inquiries related to animal care. Qualifications for the Animal Care Technician: Education: High School diploma or GED. Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a team, and excellent communication skills.
