Maintenance Manager

Overview Maintenance Manager at the Devon Clean Air manufacturing facilities in Wayne, PA. Responsible for leading the maintenance departments with a focus on safety, operating costs, and support for manufacturing and the facility. Responsibilities Leadership Develop staff through coaching and training in alignment with Johnson Matthey values and principles. Lead by example to foster a culture of safe behavior, continuous improvement, and empowerment. Evaluate and improve training methods to drive employee development. Set standards, objectives, development plans, succession plans, and evaluate performance against them. Safety Implement critical spare parts programs for facilities and production equipment. Address safety concerns for maintenance staff and plant personnel in line with company safety principles. Establish plans and actions to support new EHS initiatives and address gaps with current requirements. Provide input to develop plans addressing safety concerns, conditions, or behaviors. Participate in emergency response planning and ensure training and resources for incident response and investigations. Ensure timely closure of actions from incidents and that area safety audits are completed. Support accountability for safety rule adherence in manufacturing areas. Participate in the Safety Observation Process. Productivity Provide preventive and predictive maintenance, planning, scheduling, and spare parts inventories aligned with KPIs and strategic objectives. Identify and modify maintenance programs to optimize manpower and equipment efficiency. Support continuous improvement initiatives by prioritizing and monitoring effectiveness. Monitor equipment/process performance; identify needs for upgrades/replacements and implement improvements. Support and monitor 5S activity and participate in audits. Contribute input on new products, processes, and technologies. Quality Ensure compliance with quality systems; monitor processes through audits and address actions/non-conformities. Support root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions. General Comply with Johnson Matthey Hazardous Waste procedures and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with EHS on site safety and environmental requirements and monitor environmental compliance of equipment. Provide input to strategic manufacturing plans and develop capital programs to meet capacity, cost, and safety goals. Provide maintenance support to Project Engineering on capital projects. Administer company policy to meet regulatory requirements. Carry out other duties within skills and abilities as reasonably instructed. Key Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience/training. Maintenance engineering with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role; equivalent education/experience considered. Knowledge of facility equipment (e.g., chilled water, compressed air, HVAC, electrical, roofing) and supporting utilities. Strong preventative maintenance and reliability program experience; ability to establish and maintain programs. CMMS experience. Ability to analyze and identify equipment needs to improve quality and reduce costs (desired). Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (desired).
