Photojournalist, Spotlight on Maryland

Spotlight on Maryland is seeking a dynamic Photojournalist/storyteller to produce exclusive, innovative, hard‑hitting stories for digital, social, and television. The photographer will capture video images across multiple platforms, hold government and elected leaders accountable, and advocate for solutions that impact the communities served. Responsibilities Editing and shooting general assignment stories, multiple live shots, and natural sound packages. Producing day‑to‑day general assignment stories, in‑depth features, investigative assignments, and live shots. Exceptional video editing on non‑linear edit systems and basic graphics skills. Required Skills At least three (3) years of ENG experience with a network affiliate TV news organization. At least three (3) years of shooting experience and technical knowledge of editing and video equipment. Aggressive team player who can produce good stories under tight deadlines. Impeccable video editing skills (Adobe Premier Pro experience is a plus). Photographer who shoots live shots for multiple stations nationwide. Experience in studio and field lighting. Ability to work some nights and weekends. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Excellent transmission experience (fiber, LiveU, sat truck). Basic graphics skills (Adobe After Effects experience a plus). Superior audio skills. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate ENG news vehicles. Ability to lift and carry 25–50 pounds regularly. The base salary for this role is $33.65 to $38.46 per hour. Final compensation will be determined by experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
