Senior Property Accountant / Property Accounting Manager

A well-established and growing real estate owner/operator is seeking a Senior Property Accountant or Property Accounting Manager to join its finance team. This role offers the opportunity to oversee accounting for a diverse real estate portfolio while working directly with senior leadership in a highly entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for commercial and residential properties
- Assist with investor reporting and presentation of financial results
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Monitor cash activity and ensure adequate funding for operational needs
- Prepare bank reconciliations and maintain loan-related accounting schedules
- Record principal, interest, and escrow transactions
- Prepare tenant billings, CAM reconciliations, and real estate tax true-ups
- Monitor recurring expenses, including utilities and property taxes
- Calculate investor distributions and preferred returns
- Support acquisitions, refinancing transactions, and other strategic initiatives
- Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation
- Prepare and file NYC RPIE reports
- Partner with property management and other internal stakeholders on accounting matters
- Participate in special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate
- Experience with xhyhwjd commercial and/or residential property accounting
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with Yardi is a plus
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
